LHS59ers LINK-UP 2026/67th REUNION/

85th BIRTHDAY PARTY

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2026

Wow!  Who'd a thunk it. The whole LHS Class of 1959 either have already, or will turn 85.  What better way to celebrate than to get together with classmates and friends and party.  So, our 85th Birthday Party/Link-Up 2026/67th Reunion will be held at Lee's Chicken Restaurant on Sunday, September 20, at 4:00PM.  All Classmates, their spouses and/or significant others, lady-friends or gentleman-friends, are all invited.  Of special note, the day before (September 19), Nebraska will play North Dakota at Memorial Stadium.  You can schedule a weekend around football and a reunion.  Come on back to Lincoln!!

Plan on joining us for good food, tall stories and much other fun, on that Sunday.  Jan will provide us with Chicken bites, Chicken livers and Tastees plus several other delicacies yet to be named. Cash bar.  And the best part is that it will be FREE(CASH BAR)!!  Well, sort of.  You may, if you choose, drop some pictures of dead presidents in the pot at the door.  Any shortfall will be covered by a private benefactor.

ALL WE ASK IS WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO REGISTER, SO JAN WILL HAVE A COUNT FOR PLANNING THE FOOD.

This is the Mobile station that Dave Wohlfarth's brother ran at Normal and South. He believes this is a flood in maybe 1957 or 58. He lived in the apartment above the station. Toward the left of the photo (above the tuneup garage) you can see a door that led to the upstairs apartment.

BILL PFEIFF, DON BURT and DON ERWAY

Don Burt recently discovered this treasure on his computer.  This was taken at LHS in 2009 when Don's grandson, Joshua Sapp, signed his letter of intent to play football at UNL.  He was the winner of the Bill Pfeiff Award that year and Bill showed up for the signing, escorted, as usual, by Don Erway.  This may be one of the last photos of Pfeiff and Erway together.

LHS Class of 1957 had their 60th reunion on September 29-30 2017.  Notice Klea and Al Walin near the front.  You may recognize others.

This picture was taken in Robbers Cave.  Our 60th reunion is rapidly approaching.  This might be an activity for us.

MILITARY HONOR LICENCE PLATES

Our thanks to Fred Chrastil for leting know about this opportunity for classmates who served in the military. 

Nebraska Military Honor plates will be available to order online Dec 7, paper applications will be available online by Dec. 5 or Dec 4. Questions – contact Nebraska DMV.

ILLUMINATING LINCOLN

ILLUMINATING LINCOLN-LIGHTHOUSE is a Public Art Project and is just one component of the 25th Anniversary celebration of Lighthouse throughout 2015.


The Project is a six foot Light Bulb – an icon of illumination – using fiberglass with a polyurethane resin. All designed and created by Nebraska Artists. They are on display for individuals to see.


All the Sponsored Light Bulbs will be on display throughout Lincoln from May 1, 2015 – September, 2015. Following the display period the Light Bulbs will be auctioned at Haymarket Park on October 9. The person/busines with the winning bid will receive the sculpture to display at a private or approved public location. One-third of the bid amount will go to the Artist, with the remainder going to support Lighthouse.


The Lighthouse is an After-School Program offering middle and high school aged-youth academic support, evening meals and enrichment/recreational activities during non-school hours, Monday through Friday, twelve months a year. It is vitally important for youth to have a safe harbor during the high risk after school hours.

Special Recognition to Honor William Bogar

On May 1, 2013, staff, students and LHS alums were present at the dedication of the newly completed "William Bogar Wall of Honor".  Mr. Bogar is being honored for his years as principal at Lincoln High (1950-1976).  His daughter, Pat Burford, helped fund the wall in the hallway between the Media Center and the Cafeteria.  The Wall of Honor will recognize student successes at Lincoln High.
